Nikhil's wedding festivities! 

Part One: The Sangeet 

Vienna, Virginia  

This was a fun filled party that kicked off the wedding week. It was hosted by the grooms family. There was dinner, dancing, and singing. It was so much fun to watch and to be a part of! 

Part two: The Wedding

Chicago, Illinois

We left early Friday morning so we could explore Chicago a little bit before the wedding festivities began!  We walked around down town and treated ourselves to some true Chicago style deep dish pizza. (It was delicious but I'd be lying if I didn't say it gave me a major tummy ache!!)

Friday night the couple hosted a welcome dinner for the bridal party and their families. Unlike an American wedding, there wasn't a formal "rehearsal dinner."  There weren't any speeches or any talking for that matter. BUT it was a great night! I even got in the spirit with a little henna.

Saturday: The Wedding... 

The day began at 730 am. Jason had to be ready by 830! The Groom's Baraat started at 10. This was a very cool and special thing to be a part of! It was an hour long celebration of "bringing" the groom to his bride. The hour and a half ceremony started at 11:30 and then lunch was at 1:45. Jason had to take pictures and do some groomsmen duty stuff.... after that we had a few hour break which we used to take a much needed nap! Then at 6 part 2 of our day began, the reception aka one hell of an Indian party! Needless to stay it was an incredible weekend!! They did a great job with SO MANY details over the two weekends. I hope Nikhil and Chitraili had as much fun as we did!! 

Part two of our wedding day outfits! Jason and I are usually very light packers but with three outfit changes and three pairs of shoes each... it was a little more difficult this trip. :)
