18 months

I know I'm a little behind but better late than never!

Tyler is 18 months old!! How did this happen!??

Tyler is an easy going-laid back child.  (for the most part) He definitely does not have the energy that his brother has! He enjoys playing around the house with trucks, puzzles, his barn, and of course with BALLS! The boy LOVES balls!! (it's one of his favorite words as well!) He LOVES playing with his brother too! He always makes sure to share whatever he has with Carson. If he gets a cracker, he wants another so Carson can have one too! He is so Sweet!! He loves to give kisses so watch out, if he gives one person a kiss he HAS to give every person in the room a kiss too!! Some others things that he love to are swing out back and ride his bike! He seems to really enjoy just being outside and having the freedom to explore.

His vocabulary is growing but it's not nearly as vast as his brothers at this age. :) He can say, "mama, dad, Car (carson), Tyler, ball, apple, thank you, please, uh-oh, all done, water, cracker, up, down, help, truck, duck, dog, woof, and a few more but I can't think of them right now.

Food: He loves pancakes, yogurt, grapes, granola bars, yogurt raisins, fruit snacks, and hummus. He has been good about trying most things but he is becoming more opinionated about his food lately.

Other loves: Animals!! His favorite animals are ducks and dogs, but he gets very excited anytime he sees and animal or reads about animals.

We are just getting to the point where he will sit down and listen to/read stories with us as well! His favorite book is, "Good Night Moon." He also like "Sheep in a Jeep."

Tyler is one sweet little boy! He makes us smile every day between his funny faces and loving hugs! It has been so fun to watch the boys really start to play together and have fun together! I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us!

Tyler's stats:  Still big!
weight: 31.14 pounds (99th percentile)
Height: 35 inches (99th percentile)

some new chairs

My dining room is ever changing! It has had three different looks since we have lived here (and we haven't been here a year yet!)

This is our dining room when we moved in. Nothing REALLY wrong with it, just not my favorite.

I decided to change the table. In June I painted/refinished my table.  What I did to make over the table I was still looking for the perfect chairs to go with the "new" table. So the dark brown chair stuck around for a little while.

I thought I found what I wanted at Restoration Hardware but I'm still not sure so I decided to paint the current chairs. YELLOW!! What do you think?? 14 cans of spray paint later my brown chairs were yellow. (well it wasn't that easy... first I primed them, then each chair took about 2 cans of paint and finally I sealed them with a top coat of polyurethane.) I know the yellow is crazy and different but I figured, what the heck.

Big boy!

My baby boy is growing up! Lately has been showing a lot of interest in going pee on the potty. We decided to take hints from his queues and we pulled out the training potty. He has been going pee on the potty at least once a day. He doesn't tell us before he has to pee but we ask him and then he happily sits on the potty and goes. It can't believe he's already starting to use the potty! I feel like he is growing up too fast!!

a few pictures...

We have a new cook in the house! Tyler is very interested in cooking and helping in the kitchen. He has started taking cues from his older brother and now he drags a chair from the breakfast table over to the counter to help mama cook, mix, or clean.

My boys LOVE walking around the house in mama's shoes!! Jason doesn't think it's cute but I do! ha!! The other day Tyler wanted to put on Jason's shoes and Carson wanted to wear my shoes. Carson said, "Tyler you can be the daddy and I'll be the mommy!" Oh my sweet boys!! too, too funny! (the pictures below are not from that night, but I thought that story was sweet enough to include.)

Tyler's first meal with peanut butter as a dip! I gave him some crackers and apples to dip in peanut butter and this is him at the end of the meal! At one point he was scooping the peanut butter by the handful... who needs apples when you have a hand that works better to dip!

a very heavy heart

March 26-October 15

I have such a heavy heart! One of my VERY best friends lost her son on Monday morning. Hunter was just 18 months old and at this time we do not know the cause of death. Sue went to get him Monday morning and he had passed away in his sleep. I HATE that I am here in Orlando and they are up in Charlotte! We are headed up there tomorrow to be with them. We have had family in town visiting otherwise I would have been up there by now.

Sue and I were pregnant together and had our babies two weeks apart. I love(d) that little guy and this family! What am I going to do to help them?! So many, many prayers for them!

Our visit to Charlotte

We went to Charlotte a few weeks ago and here are a few pictures from our visit. It was so nice to see all of our friends again!! I know it seems like we go up there a lot, but we really do miss everyone and Jason also has been doing some business up there so we have been trying to coordinate our visits with his business trips.

Carson and Uncle Scott

 Aunt Andrea, Brantly, and Carson

We had another birthday party for Carson while we were up there. We invited our old playgroup and some other friends to play at Monkey Joes. It was a great time! It was basically  our group and a few other people.

Our breakfast date with Hunter (and Sue).

Headed back to Florida. My silly boys. They actually do a pretty good job in the car for 8 hours.  A little nap, watching a few movies, and playing some games... they figure out to pass the time.
